  • We heard about it at last year's E3, and Nintendo didn't think twice showing it again this year! It's everyone's favourite Wii Sports Resort. Leading up to its release, Wii Sports Resort is looking as foreign to us as Wii Sports did back during the Wii's debut. The only difference is that the latter was released, and still is, bundled with the Wii - well everywhere outside Japan anyway. This time round Nintendo are offering their new game along with the new Wii Motion Plus. The question is, is it as good as it is pumped up to be?

Wii Sports Resort is set to be an immersive, expansive active-play game that includes a dozen fun resort-themed activities. It maintains the wide-ranging appeal that attracted millions to the original Wii Sports. The game is catered for all different ages of different skill levels and promises to be action packed, while 'introducing an unprecedented experience in physical reality'.

Taking Wii Sports Resort that step further is the inclusion of the Wii MotionPlus accessory to provide players the most realistic, immersive experience possible . Different games utilise this new technology to determine the slightest tilt, turn and twist of the Wii Remote controller. The demo during this mornings conference showed the introduction of the game, a Mii skydiving into the resort titled Wuhu island. While free falling the Mii was spun, tilted and controlled by simple movements of the Wii remote and was truly in 1:1 precision.

Wuhu Island features the following resort sports:

    - Archery
    - Frisbee
    - Basketball
    - Cycling
    - Canoeing
    - Power Cruising
    - Table Tennis
    - Air Sports
    - Bowling
    - Swordplay
    - Golf
    - Wakeboarding.
