Rock Band Wii Gets a Release Date

Earlier today, Harmonix and MTV Games officially announced a June 22nd release of Rock Band for Nintendo Wii in the US and Canada. The game will come out as a Special Edition bundle with an MSRP of $169.99. Unlike the Xbox 360 and PlayStation versions, Wii owners won't have to wait to buy extra instruments, as drums, guitars, and microphones will be available on launch day.

Harmonix's press release fails to address the all-important question of downloadable content or online multiplayer. The announcement mentions that the Rock Band disc will have 63 songs and five bonus tracks, but has no word on whether Harmonix will make additional digital content available. It appears that Nintendo's version will also contain a competitive drum vs. drum mode.
