Sony Ericsson reveals W902 Walkman which comes with an 8GB storage card for 8000 songs

Three new Sony Ericsson Walkman handsets have been unveiled via an online web cast. The flagship model, the W902, is a music-ready candybar handset that also boasts a five-megapixel camera and a display with scratch resistant glass. This is the most powerful snapper found on a Walkman handset so far, putting it on par with the manufacturer's C902 Cyber-shot phone.

However, Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones are known for their music prowess and the W902 will come boxed with an 8GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) with the ability to store more than 8,000 songs. Meanwhile, Sony Ericsson says, the HSDPA-enabled W902 also comes with retro dedicated music keys, clear stereo, clear bass and premium headphones.

Also announced today, the Sony Ericsson W595 comes with a stereo Share jack that allows you to plug in two sets of headphones (or even a pair of headphones and some portable speakers), so you can listen to your music with a friend. While not as high specced as the W902, the slider-style W595 still sports a 3.2-megapixel camera and comes bundled with a 2GB Memory Stick Micro.

Finally, at the budget end is the entry-level Sony Ericsson W302, with features including a two-megapixel camera, FM radio, TrackID and 512MB Memory Stick Micro.

All three handsets are set to be available by Christmas, though pricing and retailing is yet to be confirmed. Sony Ericsson also announced that their PlayNow platform is set to be revamped in August.
