New mobile phone features a 'flip' chassis
Nokia has released a new mobile phone on to the market. The 1606 has initially been introduced in the US. Based on a flip phone design, the 1606 includes an internal antenna and a screen packing in 128x160 pixels. As such, it displays 256k colours on its TFT surface. The phone also exhibits a monochrom external display spanning 93x32 pixels.
Other features, according to the Business Wire website, includes a voice memo recorder – a useful facility in making notes while on the move without worrying whether you have a pen handy. In addition, you get the usual SMS and MMS facility with predictive text.
There has been no word as to the handset's release date on to the UK market and, in addition, there has been no indication as to the eventual price - although the phone will featch $130 in the US.
