Latest episode of Sony's downloadable show releases early, and dishes new info on their PSP redesign. By Kris Pigna, 05/30/2009
ORIGINAL STORY: You heard about it here first, and now new corroborating information has hit the web in advance of Sony's E3 press conference: A leaked episode of Qore, Sony's downloadable PS3 program, reveals new details on the PSP Go!, as well as giving the world the first official view of what the handheld looks like.
This all comes from Gaming Console Network (via Kotaku), which "somehow" gained access to the June episode of Qore early (you can see a clip of the episode that was posted on YouTube below). For starters, the show reveals that the redesigned handheld (which indeed features a sliding screen) will have 16 gigs of internal flash memory, in addition to memory stick slots to add even more memory. The video also confirms that Grand Turismo and "a new Metal Gear" are headed to the PSP, and mentions the previously revealed Jak and Daxter and PSP version of Little Big Planet.
A few other details: PSN video purchases and rentals will extend to the PSP Go!, it'll have Bluetooth support, and it'll be released in the fall. And significantly, it's not intended to replace the PSP-3000, as Sony plans to "keep them both on the market."
We expect most of these details to be double confirmed (or would that be triple at this point?) at Sony's E3 press conference next week. Hopefully we'll get a look at the new Metal Gear and long-in-the-making Gran Turismo as well, so stay tuned.
