In yet another story of dubious origins in what's turned out to be a very rumor filled weekend, Destructoid (via Kotaku) received an image from an anonymous source that seems to provide evidence Rare is planning to release the original Perfect Dark for Xbox Live Arcade.

The image, shown above, presumably comes from the same Brazil briefing that recently leaked new evidence of Forza Motorsport 3. This is also of course not the first evidence that Rare may be planning an XBLA port of Perfect Dark, as back in early April, Rare themselves seemed to accidentally leak the project in an image promoting the Banjo-Tooie premium dashboard theme (via Joystiq). Interestingly, the icon used in both images does appear to be the same...

But once again, as usual, we advocate caution here -- there's no telling yet what the origins of this image actually are, and even if it is real, why exactly Perfect Dark is listed on it. Our only hope is that if Rare actually is planning to release Perfect Dark on XBLA, they go back and add in twin-stick controls. Have you tried playing those old Nintendo 64 shooters lately?
