Neversoft's Brian Bright says they would "love to integrate" the DJ Hero deck. By Kris Pigna, 06/14/2009
"We've worked with [DJ Hero creator FreeStyleGames], talked to them about the game for a couple of years now, looked at different builds and played it," said Bright to Eurogamer. "We would love to integrate in the future."
We won't see turntable controls in the upcoming Guitar Hero 5, though, but only because of a conflict of release dates. "Unfortunately for Guitar Hero 5, we ship a few months before they do," Bright explained. "[But] we'd love to explore instrument compatibility in the future; we'll see where it goes." On top of that, DJ Hero producer Kevin McSherry also suggested that drums could be added to DJ Hero as well, saying that, "We're open to what the future might bring."
All of which begs the question: If DJ Hero eventually gets both guitar and drums, and Guitar Hero gets turntables, at what point will these two franchises essentially become the same game? Call us crazy, but we have a feeling Activision will figure out some way to differentiate them, and continue to release new installments in both franchises year after year. After year. After year.
