Gearbox recently filed four trademarks for the title "War Hero," with titles including, "World War II Hero," "Brothers in Arms War Hero," and "Modern War Hero." Now the developer has confirmed that the titles are indeed real, saying that it's something for "down the road."

According to Gearbox president Randy Pitchford (via Shacknews), the trademarks "reveal a bit about our interests in the development of another original intellectual property." However, "we haven't even talked to any potential partners" in regards to War Hero.

Pitchford added that War Hero is not among the three mystery projects currently listed on their "games" page, and that they aren't ready to talk about it publicly yet.

In addition to those three projects, Gearbox is also working on Borderlands and Aliens: Colonial Marines. The former is due this fall, while the latter will be arriving after Rebellion Software's Aliens vs Predator.

Pitchford said that the studio is currently "all gaga" over Borderlands. Looks like we won't be hearing much more about War Hero for a bit.
