    Mass Effect DLC Teased, Recanted

News of another expansion for the original ME "will have to wait." By Steve Watts, 06/28/2009

    Mass Effect

The internet was abuzz this week with word of new downloadable content for the original Mass Effect, but it looks like it isn't happening - at least, not yet. In a tweet from early in the week, "Evil Chris" said on the Mass Effect 2 Twitter account, "Getting the feeling some news about the next ME1 DLC may be coming this week. Keep your eyes peeled." But after a week of waiting turned up no results, he later had to explain why. "Due to circumstances beyond my control (me being stupid on timing), any news of more ME1 DLC will have to wait," he said. "Sorry folks."

It seems odd that more DLC for the first Mass Effect is even on its way, since BioWare is likely concentrating so hard on Mass Effect 2. Since the stories of the series are so intertwined, it could be that this next content pack - whenever it's announced - will lead in to the events of the next game. For now we'll just have to wait and see, but those of us who have boarded the elevators in Mass Effect are used to waiting.
