Doom developer can now work more quickly, Bethesda says. By Kat Bailey, 06/30/2009
"They'd like to start building up a full third team and, as a result of this deal, they'll be able to do that more quickly than they could have previously with the additional resources they have to work with now," Bethesda vice president of marketing Pete Hines told TechRadar.
"We expect id will keep doing what they've always been doing. And that includes the projects they are already working on."
id Software agreed to the Zenimax purchase due to what found John Carmack described as changing relationships with publishers. At the moment, id Software's major projects include Rage, Wolfenstein and Doom 4.
For their part, Bethesda says they're excited about their new partnership with id Software.
"There were a lot of jaws hitting the floor and more than a few 'Holy *insert profanity*' when we told folks the news," Hines said.
"Obviously, we're all thrilled to be working with a studio like id, whose games and reputation speak for themselves."
