The 'Facebook phone' is Phone of the Year at mobile industry awards, the Meffys
It's completely subjective, but the Meffy Awards (held by the Mobile Entertainment Forum) recently named the INQ1 as 2009's phone of the year.
Considered the benchmark in terms of success and innovation in the mobile industry, the Meffy's judges phones based on their importance to drive consumer discovery and entertainment.
INQ's first phone out of the gate was award top honors because they've built their hardware and software from the ground up, with a strict focus on social media and mobile internet services.
MEF's Executive Director, Rimma Perelmuter, said "We are delighted for INQ Mobile, a new entrant to the market, whose focus on usability and social networking features answers the needs of consumers who seek a fun, affordable and connected experience."
Already universally praised, the Meffy is the capper in INQ Mobile's treble, with the company also being awarded "Best Newcomer" at the Mobile News Awards and "Handset of the Year" at the Mobile World Congress.
