Footage of new tough phone shows handset undergoing punishment

After a smattering of software-related news, including the release of Ovi Maps, the focus in Nokia once again turns to hardware. The unannounced Nokia 3720, a rugged design, is now appearing on a selection of videos showing exactly how tough it really is - as it is battered, dropped and thoroughly messed about with.

The Nokia 3720 has yet to be formerly announced by Nokia but, as this new range of videos has been leaked on the Internet, that date will surely arrive soon. In fact, some observers believe that the handset will be released during this September. The design is targeted for a European release, probably via T-Mobile. Although no price details have yet to be finalised, reports judge that the mobile will be positioned within a midrange price bracket.

There are a total of five videos currently available on the Internet, according to the Gadgetfolder website. They include the Nokia being hit by a golf club, dropped into a pint of beer and dropped from a high place.
