O2 customers to receive notifications on Twitter updates
From August O2 customers can receive replies and direct messages free of charge from their Twitter account via a text message. The phenomenon that has proved so popular even the Royal Family has signed up will provide an option to switch on a text notification meaning Tweeters will be kept in the loop at all times, though customers will also be able to switch it off should they want to get a spot of shut eye for example.
Though the service is free, O2 has implemented a fair usage policy of under 600 messages a month.
