Motorola is really beefing up its Android line. The DEXT came out a couple months ago (check out our five star review) and now the Motorola Milestone is set to launch in the second week of December.

Already out in the US as the Droid, the Milestone is a QWERTY slider slimmer than the DEXT and is the first phone with the latest Android 2.0 operating system - new features include support for a camera flash, revamped UI and a beefed up browser supporting the newest HTML5 code for a richer web experience.

The display clocks in at generous 3.7 inches with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. It also supports multi-touch, the first Android device to do so, putting it on equal footing with the iPhone and Palm Pre. Other specs include a five-meg camera with digital zoom, high speed HSDPA internet support plus Wi-Fi and A-GPS. No Google Map Navigation beta though - that's a US-only feature - but preloaded will be Moto's own MotoNav app.

The Motorola Milestone has a price tag of £449.95, unlocked, at eXpansys UK. No word on what carriers will pick it up, and in fact, eXpansys is claiming that the smartphone is exclusive in the UK to the retailer.

Customers can pre-order the smartphone at www.expansys.co.uk, and stock is expected in the week commencing December 7.
