Installing a DVD burner is considered a simple task. Most of the DVD burners come with a manual that inform you about the installation process. Make sure you pick up the right tool kit before you install an internal DVD Burner. Instructions Difficulty: Easy Steps 1 Step One Turn your computer off. Wait for a while until all components of the system cool down. 2 Step Two Place your computer on a wooden floor or rubber mat. This will ensure safety from power discharge. 3 Step Three Disconnect all the cables. Turn off the power/mains attached to your machine. 4 Step Four Remove the computer case with a + screw driver. Once the screws are removed, slide the cover to detach it. 5 Step Five View the motherboard with a hard drive, processor and the RAM connected to it. 6 Step Six Pull out slowly all the cables connected to your old drive. 7 Step Seven Detach the screws on either side of your old drive. Once this is done, you can slide out the old drive and remove it. 8 Step Eight Place your new burner in the space where your old drive was kept. Slide the burner gently along the case to place it. Make sure that the placement is done with perfect alignment. 9 Step Nine Fix the screws that you had removed earlier. Connect the cables in proper sequence. 10 Step Ten Replace the case into its original position. Do not fix the screws back to the case. Screws can be fixed once you have tested the successful installation of the burner. 11 Step Eleven Turn your computer on and check whether the burner is operating properly. 12 Step Twelve Go through the manual again, if necessary. 13 Step Thirteen Put back all the screws and refit the computer case.
