How to Connect to Bluetooth Devices With a Treo Smartphone

You've brought a Bluetooth device for your Treo Smartphone, but how do you go about connecting it? It's not actually that difficult. Bluetooth is a technology that allows electrical devices to communicate with one another without using wires. Bluetooth technology has really found a home in mobile phones as almost all of the newer mobile phones have Bluetooth. The Treo is no exception, as the Treo is compatible with many Bluetooth devices. Instructions Difficulty: Easy Things You'll Need Treo Smartphone Steps 1 Step One Navigate to "Applications." 2 Step Two Select "Bluetooth." 3 Step Three Change the status of Bluetooth to "on" if it isn't already. When you buy the phone the Bluetooth will be set to "off" to conserve power. 4 Step Four Name your Treo, this name is what other phones would see if they are trying to send you a file by Bluetooth. 5 Step Five Put the Bluetooth device into its pairing mode. The way to do this will depend on your specific Bluetooth device; to find out how to do it you must look in the manual for your specific Bluetooth device. 6 Step Six Select "Set up Devices" from the menu. 7 Step Seven Press "Hands-free setup." 8 Step Eight Enter the pass code as indicated in your Bluetooth headset manual. You may have to enter a pass code on your headset and a pass code on the phone, in which case enter the same code in both places. 9 Step Nine Press "done" and you're ready to start using your Bluetooth device. Tips & Warnings Most of the Bluetooth devices pass codes are 0000, but check your manual to find out. Should you be away from your phone ensure that you have the Bluetooth set off as a safety measure. This will ensure that nobody can hack into your phone, as evidence has been provided to suggest that this can be done. Bluetooth has many uses. You can use it for headsets, sending files or even syncing your phone. If you get a file from someone you don't know then under no circumstances accept it; there are viruses that can affect Smartphones.
