How to Scan a Document to a Memory Card

    Step 1:
Scan the document and save it on the hard drive.

    Step 2:
Try this first. Once you have saved it to the hard drive--try to choose saving the file to the drive designated as the memory card's drive from the program you are using to help scan the document. You do this by choosing save as... and then navigating through the list of choices it gives for drives--the proper drive will likely show up with most modern scan programs. If you cannot locate the drive letter within your program, go to the next step.

    Step 3:
Open up the My Documents Window or the directory you saved the scanned image to--most will save automatically to My documents or a file folder in my documents. If not you will have to open the My computer window or use the search feature option to locate your file which should both be options on the start menu.

    Step 4:
Open the My Computer window once you have located your saved file. Find the drive letter designated for your memory card and double click (left button on mouse) on it, which should open a window for the drive and the ability to move programs to memory card.

    Step 5:
Move the memory cards window to a spot where a portion of the window will show below the window your saved file is in by left clicking on the top bar of the window and dragging (with the mouse) to a selected spot. If you cannot do this with decent space, resize the window your saved file is in so it fits over the top of the card's window.

    Step 6:
Changed to the saved file's window and left-click on the saved file's icon then move it by using the mouse to drag it into the drive's window and let go. This should make a copy of your document on the memory card.
